John Romano LMT, MPP, CMLDT, CII

Originally from West Chester, PA, John started his career with an apprenticeship in Allentown, PA while attending Kutztown University for Fine Arts and Biology.

 

He started working with professional bodybuilders using techniques that he learned to help increase muscle mass. He also started to work on other professional athletes at this time. He has worked on athletes from the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Philadelphia Flyers during this time.

After moving to Florida in 2002, he got his Florida Massage license and started teaching massage therapy in 2005. He became the president of the Broward chapter of the FSMTA (Florida State Massage Therapy Association) in 2009, as well as becoming a CE (continuing education) provider. Also in 2009, he was inducted into the Madison Avenue’s Who’s Who as one of the top International Therapists and was also inducted into the ISPA (International Sports Professional’s Association) for his excellent work with professional athletes. In 2010 John started working with The Smart Ride event in their Massage Therapy Crew, even bringing some of his students to the event with him.

 

John was accepted as one of the official therapists for the 2012 Olympic Games in London to work with gymnastics, swimming, and weightlifting. He eventually declined the position due to scheduling issues, but it was a great honor to be selected. 

2014 John became the 2nd vice president for the Florida State Massage Therapy Association. In 2017 he started the International Symposiums At Sea which had its first Symposium, The International Lymphatic Symposium that year followed by the International Pain Management Symposium in May 2019 followed by the International Anti-Aging Symposium in June 2019.  International symposiums were stopped during covid, but are expected to start up again in 2024 as the International Pain Management Symposium has been set for the end of June in 2024.

In 2022, John got called in as an adjunct therapist for the Florida Panthers Hockey team during the playoff season, the 2023 playoff season and was called back for 2024 season as well.  He is also currently working with Olympic athletes and has been teaching massage therapy at various massage therapy schools since 2005.
